〔大陸新聞中心╱綜合報導〕據研究發現：精子x和精子y各有特點。欲生男者，於排卵期性交(或授精)，即易生男，因為精子y較脆弱，不能像精子x那樣長久等候，而且排卵期愈近，宮頸黏液愈稀薄，而偏鹼，對精子y有利。反之，欲生女者，應距排卵期愈遠為宜，此時宮頸黏液愈黏，而偏酸，對精子y不利，相對的對精子x耐受。
